High functioning anxiety can come to a full stop when we recognize the mental and behavioral patterns that perpetuate it. Today, in this anxiety guy podcast episode we will be doing just that, bringing to conscious focus the pattern of ‘doership’ and taking a massive step towards anxiety healing. Enjoy!
Show Notes
Are you feeling anxious and overwhelmed? In this episode of the Anxiety Guy podcast, I discuss the concept of “doership” and its connection to anxiety.
Doership is a forceful push to do things motivated by fear, which comes from the lower self or subconscious mind. It is connected to perfectionism and the need to be a certain person to avoid rejection and stay accepted by others. In this episode, I emphasize the importance of recognizing when doership is arriving and consciously connecting it to the parts of your life that are not happening because of this pattern.
Instead of immediately engaging in doership, I suggest moving towards non-doership. I recommend taking a few minutes in the morning to utilize mapping, where you are the witness of your anxiety sensations, suppressed feelings, and emotions. Befriending the very thing that you’re looking to distract and run from is a key point in anxiety healing.
“The more you resist, the more it persists.” So, let’s take a step back and befriend our anxiety instead of running from it. Tune in to the Anxiety Guy podcast to learn more about how to overcome anxiety and live a fulfilling life.

Quotes
- “Doership is this feeling that I have to do something because if I don’t, I’ll be letting people down. I’ll be detaching from who I believe I am.”
- “So a lot of times when you overcome the fear, anger may show up, you may experience more mood swings, or there may be some apathy that shows up or you know, there may be some sadness or depression that shows up, whatever it is, right? There may be guilt blame. So it’s not uncommon that people overcome fear and anxiety and move towards a next negative state, which is actually progress.”
- “The concept is to move with what it is you are feeling in terms of sensation and emotions that are running through your body. And this is all related to energy. So instead of the first 10, 10 minutes being related to doership or connected to Doership, you are moving towards non doership instead. And now you are the witness of things rather than the doer, if that makes sense. “
- “In order for us to gain the clarity we need in order for us to, to tap into the epiphanies that come from our higher self, we have to move away from a place of overthinking and over worrying into a place of befriending the very thing that we’re most afraid of. And that is the feeling.”
